Black lacquered wooden box with lid, on which portrait of a man (G.A.G.P. van der Capellen, minister of colonies 1814, governor general 1816-1826), chest piece to the left in uniform. Underside coat of arms, cross with four equally long arms, on the left arm a turret of a church (?); holding by beast (half lion, half eagle), on which 2 knighthoods hang including spell on ribbon ('Pietate et Fortitudine'); above the shield a crown. The side of the box has a circular golden stripe on both parts. Marked; under: coat of arms etc.
