Joseph Chalier (1747-1793), Clément Jayet, c. 1793 - c. 1794 Canvas Print
The head is three-quarters to the right. Strands of hair cover the ears, the hair on the back of the head is held together by a bow and falls into a tail on the right shoulder. The bust ends at the upper arms and below the chest, where it passes into a cylindrical lower part. Chalier wears a shirt hanging open on the chest with a raised collar and lace deposits. A pseudo-Roman mantle is draped in front of the breast and is held up by a fibula at the left shoulder.
