Woman with awning hat of 'paille d'Italie', decorated with flowers and marab banks. She wears a cottonbatist (percale) gown, with a bodice of smuffed muslin. The skirt is decorated at the bottom with strips of muslin and remplis. Further accessories: checkered fichu with fringes, striped belt(?), reticule (purse), shoe with bow. Proof of a print from the fashion magazine Journal des Dames et des Modes, published by Pierre de la Mésangère, Paris, 1797-1839.
