Man with a top hat of 'castor' on his head. He wears a 'habit' in the colour 'fumée de Navarin' decorated with steel buttons and pleated 'basques' on the back, by Bailly. Below is a cardigan and long pants of 'casimir mérinos' with the closure in the middle front. Further accessories: knotted neckerchief, gloves, walking stick, shoes with square noses. Figure in the same 'habit', seen on the back. The print is part of the fashion magazine Journal des Dames et des Modes, published by Pierre de la Mésangère, Paris, 1797-1839.
