The print depicts the story of Paris's judgment. Paris, Prince of Troy, was outside Troy herding a flock of sheep. He is asked by three goddesses to judge them by their beauty. To the left of the print is the naked Paris. He has the golden apple in his hand and looks at the three goddesses. In the background, the flock of sheep he was supposed to herd. On the right are the naked goddesses Venus, Minerva and Juno. Venus has Cupid at hand, Minerva wears her signature helmet and shield and has an owl as a companion. Juno has a peacock as his companion.
