Jupiter, with a lightning bolt in his hand, holds Semele's baby, the later wine god Bacchus. Semele lies dying on the ground, because she wanted to see Jupiter in its full divinity. The latter on the advice of Juno, seen behind the cloud in the background, because she was jealous of her husband's adultery with Semele. Bottom left: g.
