Karuppannasamy (also known as Karuppu, Karuppar or Karuppannaswamy), a local god from South India, helper of Aiyanar and protector of the village, stands upright, his right leg slightly bent in the knee. He leans with his left hand on a club. In his raised right hand he holds a sickle (Tamil: arival). On his left hip hangs a knife with scabbard, its handle in the shape of a parakeet.
