Kraantjeskan, Wijnand Warneke (attributed to), 1781 Canvas Print
The pear-shaped jug, with a loose lid, has three high legs resting on rosewood bobbins, a tap and a C-shaped ear of water buffalo horn placed opposite. The molded legs are shaped like a branch with a flower and end in a foot. The body is tormented; the ribs describe an S-shaped curve that continues over the lid. Along the top of the body runs a multiple profiled edge, along the underside of the lid a single profile; there the curve is interrupted. Over the abdomen between the paws, at the bottom along the upper edge of the jar and around the lid button, which has the shape of a rose branch, foam edges run. Against the foam edge on the front of the abdomen is placed the poured tap. This is made up of a cylindrical part with a foam wreath-like starter, a part in which the rotating tap fits, and a faceted part that is surrounded by a leaf volute at the end, where it bends downwards. The handle of the tap is an asymmetrical, open cartouche made up of leaf revolutions. The silver connecting piece on the underside of the horn ear is designed from below as a branch. The bowler (B) has the shape of a rounded triangular leaf with slightly swung sides, which rests on three cast, volute-shaped legs. On the raised edge, a profile edge is imposed along the outside. In the center of the blade is a low, round holder, in which the printed spherical burner (C) fits.
