Round pewter plaque, a so-called 'Kuchenplatte'. A representation of Pyramus and Thisbe near a fountain is engraved in a circle in the center. This scene is related to a print by Heinrich Aldegrever from 1553. Surrounded by four scenes from the life of the Prodigal Son, clockwise from top left: the son says goodbye to his father, the son feasts at the table, the son as a pig farmer and the son returns to his father on his knees. The scenes are related to the series by Hans Sebald Beham from 1540. The scenes are separated from each other by a caryatid.
