The statesman and calligrapher Ono no Tôfû, or Michikaze (894-966) stands by a red lacquered table. In the tradition of calligraphy, Tôfû is most appreciated for his development of Chinese characters in Japanese style. This print is a copy from the Meiji period (1868-1912) and lacks the titles on the print. With three poems instead of two poems in the original.
