Lance belonging to coat of arms by Cornelis Tromp, anonymous, c. 1650 - c. 1679 Canvas Print
The wood of the lance is lacquered. Shoe of yellow copper and fittings at the blade of red copper. Associated sheath. The blade of the lance has a Japanese shape, but lacks a hole in the sting for the attachment of the blade to the stick. The sting has a rough surface that was smeared with resin and thus fixed in the hole of the stick. This method of assembly is characteristic of stick weapons and white weapons from Southeast Asia.
