Lance belonging to Cornelis Tromp's weapon rack, anonymous, c. 1650 - c. 1679 Canvas Print

Lance with lacquered wooden stick, yellow copper shoe, curved blade with yellow and red copper batter. Short model. With sheath. The blade of the lance has a Japanese shape, but lacks a hole in the sting for the attachment of the blade to the stick. The sting has a rough surface that was smeared with resin and thus fixed in the hole of the stick. This method of assembly is characteristic of cane weapons and white weapons from Southeast Asia.
