Two maps (I-II) with the Spanish fleet in the Channel under the Cornish and Devon coast, within an ornamental framework. At the top of the frame a medallion with the portrait of Queen Elizabeth I, flanked by the personifications of History and Fame, seated between weaponry (spears, shields, banners). Under the medallion hangs a cartouche with the Anchor of Hope, the coat of arms of the English Admiralty, surrounded by the four winds. Below neptune in his car pulled by two horses and accompanied by two men with fish tails. In the right corner of the left map, Britannia sits with two putti by a rock by the water. One of the two putti looks out over the sea with binoculars. On the right map Minerva and a putti with Charles Howard's gun. The performance is part of a book about the Spanish Armada and the carpets that were made on behalf of Howard.
