His coat of arms as elector palatine (1556-1559) is depicted in three parts around the medallion (on the left the lion's coat of arms of the Palatinate, on the right the diamond coat of arms of Bavaria and in the middle below the apple of the Empire for Elector dignity, with a considerable lion as the helmet sign in the middle above).
