Cartoon on the failed attempts of the Amsterdam poet and sugar refiner W.H. Warnsinck to introduce a national Dutch costume during the Belgian Revolt, 10 July 1831. Street scene in which a man and a woman dressed according to new proposals ask each other if they are already official. At the top of a staircase a small shouting male 'Professor Kickeriki' (= Warnsinck). Through the air runs up the 'Nieuwe IJzerenweg' over which a steam dipiligence and the 'last Lustwagen' blown on with a bellows drive towards the moon.
