Model of a 16-cm Gun on a Pivot and Slide on Part of a Gun Deck, Rijkswerf Amsterdam, 1865 Canvas Print
Model of a towed front loader on rotary and sliding slide on part of a ship's deck. The brass barrel, long 34 cm and with a caliber of 16 mm, thickens at the tape piece and behind it again; no jewelry bands except the chasing band. The soul is drawn with six grooves. The panting lies in the neck of the grape and is locked with a brace. The piece has a percussion lock No. 1 (see NG-MC-1050), where the lockrest protrudes behind the kulasband, where a mount can be attached. The upper spout consists of two cheeks, two axle blocks without wheels, an oblique calf and a braking device. The elevation is done by means of an axle screw on the rear axle block. The braking device, attached to the front axle block, consists of a clamp around the shelves of the sled, which is tightened with a screw. The affuit has four rollers against the short sides of the cheeks, which only go over the shelves of the carriage if the rear pair of rollers are pushed down by means of a lever and so that the affuit can move freely over the carriage. The sled consists of two shelves, a lower-lying laying trailer in the middle, a calf, and two crossbars with which the sled moves over the turning circles in the deck. In front and back the sled has an eye, which are laid over the pivot bolts in the deck. The base board of the model represents the upper deck of a ship. Cage bulwark is placed on the edges. In each side is a gate, consisting of three gate parts that fold outwards after the cage bulwark is removed. So the piece can fire on two sides. In front of and behind the cannon, schematically hatch heads are indicated. Scale 1:10 (according to archives).
