Model of a 24-Pounder Breech-Loading Gun, anonymous, 1829 Canvas Print
Model of a 24-pound rear loading gun on ship's part, incomplete. The barrel is 30.5 cm long and has a caliber of 14 mm. The grape has been replaced by a brass bracket, probably for handling the locking piece. A wedge right through the kulas holds the locking piece in place; the locking piece consists of the bracket and the bottom of the chamber, which is pulled backwards from the kulas. Only one cheek has been preserved from the affuit. The ship's part is a schematic representation of a piece of deck and a gun gate with a round opening, the outer diameter of which is larger than the inner diameter. Scale 1:10 (estimate).
