Model of a 60-Pounder Gun on Slide and Pivot, anonymous, 1855 Canvas Print
Model of a long 60-pound cannon on a swivel sled on a ground shelf, incomplete. The barrel, long 36 cm and with a caliber of 20 mm, has a trouser ring with a loose cap, a visor at the back (the attachment bar is missing), one at the level of the taps and a front, and a percussion lock that strikes at an angle; the grape is flat. The upper spout, narrower from the front than behind, consists of two cheeks with four steps, connected by an oblique calf, the shaft bodies and two bolts that go straight through the two cheeks; soleplate and stelwig are missing. Metal axles run through the axle bodies, where the wheels are fitted on the ends. The wheels are only used for the transport of the affuit next to the sled, but can also be mounted under the sled. In position, the upper part rests with the ash bodies on the shelves of the slide. At the back are two small wheels, which, rotating around a hinge, can lift the back of the afuit so that it also rests on two small wheels at the front and is easy to get on board. The top spout is coupled to the sled with a brake mechanism, which consists of a clamping device. The sled is a wooden frame with pivots at the ends and whose shelves are lined with brass. The crossbars are brass-lined at the bottom to facilitate their movement on the turning circles in the deck. The rig is missing. Scale 1:10 (derived).
