Model of a Boiler for Steam Locomotives, anonymous, 1863 Canvas Print

Model of a tubular steam boiler, a variation on NG-MC-1162. Two fires are separated by a room, through which pipes run that connect the fires. With a valve at the front, the air supply of one fireplace can be controlled. The combustion gases flow through the pipes to the room above the other fire place, the underside of which is closed to ensure that the air supply passes only through the valve of the first fire place. The gases are then fed through pipes to the chimney to be connected at the front. The other space in the model is for the boiler water.
