Model of a Breech-Loading Gun, Rijkswerf Amsterdam, 1863 Canvas Print
Wooden model of the barrel of a 1 pound rear loader. The blackened barrel tapers and has only one thickening. Furthermore, the taps and the zundgat are indicated. The kulas is open and is closed by a locking piece that slides in sideways. Pushed to the left, the entrance to the room is opened; both in closed and open position, the locking pin is secured by a pen with a spring from above. The locking piece tapers to the right, so that it freezes in closed position; it has a handle on the back. The access to the room is equipped with a brass ring with a smaller opening than the caliber of the piece; the function of this is unclear. Scale 1:2.
