Model of a Capstan, 's Lands Werf Amsterdam (possibly), c. 1780 Canvas Print
Model of a cape seeer in a wooden frame of two levels. It is a cape for eight wind trees and has no poles to prevent the decline. The wooden king continues to the lower level. Each spindle lamp has a slide inside with a pin that protrudes outwards at the heel: with wheels these sliders run over a sloping just below the drum, so that the pins slide up one by one when turning. With small poles at the top of the spindle lamps, the sliders are lowered again. This mechanism causes the line on the drum to slide up. Scale 1:10 (estimate).
