Model of a Paddle Shaft Support, anonymous, c. 1830 - c. 1845 Canvas Print
Model of part of the ship's skin with an external carrier for the cog shaft. The cushion block for the axle rests on a platform, which is supported by three knees. The knees are covered with a smooth semicircular plate, presumably as protection from splashing water. Two triangular side panels protect the block from splashing water. The cushion block consists of a carriage, kegge and the axle lining. Scale 1:10 (derived).
