Model of a deep lead, painted black, incomplete. It consists of a ball attached to a round rod. This rod hangs with two arms on a double line, which must be attached to the perpendicular; the arms fall as soon as the weight of the lead is lifted when it hits the ground. The arms have hooks, which release something as soon as they fall; according to Obreen's description, as soon as the bottom was reached, the ball was repelled. At the bottom of the rod is a hole for taking soil samples. probably the ball that formed the weight.
