Model of a device for spinning schiemans yarn. Between two crosses is a cog, consisting of a large gear in the middle and four small ones at the ends of the arms. The shafts of the small gears are extended with a hook on which a transverse pin: the yarn is beaten around the transverse pin and passed through the hook, which takes it along in its rotational movement. The large gear is driven by a crank. One of the arms of the cross is extended for attachment of the spinning wheel at a fixed point.
