Model of an Artillery Crane on Tracks, anonymous, c. 1800 - c. 1857 Canvas Print
Model of a heavy crane on eight wheels, a carriage and a loading platform, running in tracks, and a cart. The hoist has two winches, with swivels on either side; by moving the drums with gears, the winches can be combined, but the mechanism is now defective. The arm of the crane rotates around its axis; the rope runs over a disc through the king to the back, between two vertical rollers and over a disc back to the front and over a disc at the end of the arm. A ring and double hook are attached to the end. There are three trace pieces, one of which is a turntable with ball bearing. One carriage is an eight-wheeled window like the crane; the other is a loading platform with tracks, which must be placed upside down on the other track pieces with bullets in the tracks, which function as ball bearings. The track pieces and loading platform have rings on the sides for towing and securing with rope. One track piece can be attached to the cart, which has a winch at the front with which crane, carriage or loading platform can be pulled onto the cart; the top of the cart is a continuation of the tracks. The cart has two small wheels in the front, which can rotate, and two large wheels at the back.
