Model reconstruction of a single-masted ship excavated at Capelle, Johannes Petrus Scholten (attributed to), 1822 Canvas Print
Rather coarse model of a single mast ship without rigs. It is an over-seamed flat-bottomed pointed gatter with straight, falling stevens. Deck beams indicate a main deck, and the model has a front and back plet with shutters. On the back ceremony is a frying spindle, on the front plele two pump tubes. In the hold, a part has been shot behind. The chamy runs up to both ends, the model has one bark wood. A mast track, a mast holder and chain pittings are indicated from the rig. The model is a reconstruction of the vessel that was discovered on 22 February 1822 at Capelle in the Langstraat and then excavated. It is made entirely of material from the original ship. Reconstruction model.
