Allegorical monument in honor of the defenders of the Citadel of Antwerp during the siege by the French army in December 1832. On the monument a bust of General Chassé between banners, cannons and grenades, he receives a laurel wreath from the Dutch Virgin. Behind the banners a stone with the names of the defenders of the Citadel. On the left the History describes the events, on the ground sits the Dutch Lion.
