Neptune Fountain in Nuremberg, Michael Rössler, 1713 - 1747 Canvas Print
Neptune Fountain in Nuremberg. On top of the fountain, Neptune stands with trident on a pedestal with the coat of arms of the Holy Roman Empire. There's a nymph with a oar for that. Together with a nymph at the back of the fountain, she personifies the Rivers Pegnitz and Rednitz in Nuremberg. Left and right blow putti on shells. All around are two meermans on hippocampi and putti on other marine animals. The fountain has been in the upper garden of The Peterhof Palace Complex since 1782. Right above Tab. IX.
