Seated woman dressed in a gown of merino wool, decorated with brandebourgs and rouleaux of satin. The bodice is called 'à la Prisonnière'. On the head a 'chapeau negligé' of 'crêpe tisse'. In the hands an open book. On the right a seated woman, seen on the back, dressed in the same gown. Print from the fashion magazine Nouveau Journal des Dames, Paris, from 5 July 1821 to the end of December 1821. From January 1822 to 1868 the fashion magazine was entitled: Petit Courrier des Dames.
