The performance shows the humbly offering of a petition to the English State Secretary John Thurloe and Hugh Peters by the representatives of the States-General, in the print called: Paulus van der Parre, Willem Nieupoort, Hieronymus van Beverningk and Allard Peter Jongstall. Episode at the time of the First Anglo-Dutch War, ca, 1654. The prints were used by the English as propaganda to justify the war against the United Provinces.
