A man works with a scythe on the land, while his mother offers a cup of tea under a tree. The title of this print refers to the ten-part historiography commissioned by Emperor Montoku, written from 851 to 879. It is considered one of the Six National Historiography of Japan. The performance refers to the story of Ono no Takamura (802-852) who refused to travel to China to a delegation because he could not take care of his parents. As punishment, he was exiled to the island of Oki, but was later forgiven for his shown will to take care of his parents. With two poems.
