Pair of pyrotechnic flintlock pistols, Jan Nelleman (II), 1744 Canvas Print

Part of a couple. The final plate is signed and chiseled with an acanthus leaf; the rooster is decorated with a leafy vine. The loop stepped at the back has a thickened ring in the middle and a ring at the tromp; with an inscription and stamped on top with the coat of arms of Utrecht. The flask consists only of a handle, cut into relief with, among other things, praise work. The formerly gilded yellow copper fittings with post-selected curls in relief consist of a cornered trigger bracket, an unprocessed thumb plate framed by praise work with Classic male wearers and a mask underneath, and the flask cap with traces sprouting in praise, decorated with acanthus branches in triangles all around and a mask on the bottom; the screw plate is not embossed, but has the same shape as the lock plate and is engraved with a hunting scene; no provision for a loading stick.
