Parts of a Model of a Rowing Mechanism, Jochem Pietersz. Asmus, 1797 - 1810 Canvas Print

Parts of a very incomplete model of a rowing or wriggle tool, consisting of two pairs of identical parts. The first pair are oars or rudders, with a hole in the stand at half height, and a kind of tiller that can move vertically. The other parts consist of a forked piece of wood with a large disc in the fork, and at the other end a kidney-shaped piece of wood; this part also has a hole in the middle. This inventory number originally also contained some models of masts, roundwoods, halls and donkey heads, which have not been recovered. The components of the rowing tool have been found separately and without an inventory number, so that the identification is based solely on assumption. However, the parts clearly form two pairs and are of the same make-up.
