Pedestal of ink set, Theodorus Gerardus Bentvelt, 1824 Canvas Print
Base of frame with two silver lids of the barrel-shaped jars. The rectangular leaf with rounded corners rests on four printed spherical, ribbed legs. The wall is made up of a straight, ribbed band and a smooth vaulted part, along which a cable edge runs at the top. On the raised middle part of the leaf there are three cylindrical, low holders with profiled lower and upper edges. In it fit three barrel-shaped jars of colorless glass, decorated with a sharpened diamond pattern. The middle jar has a fixed silver lid, in which a pattern is sawn from a stylized flower surrounded by asterisks. On the neck of the other two is a smooth, silver ring mounted, on which a silver lid fits. This has a straight wall with a profile edge at the bottom and a cable edge at the top, and a slightly curved top. The middle potty is intended for sand; the other two for ink. The three holders are secured under the bottom of the leaf by means of a long pin. Around the middle holder is the inscription: Last gift from my Mother-in-Law, Died Aug 25: 1824.
