Persian sabre of Cornelis Tromp, anonymous, c. 1600 - c. 1700 Canvas Print
Persian saber with hilt of silver and walrus ivory. Curved gedamasceerde blade. The simple cross hilt has a pareers' rod of gilded silver decorated with floral motifs. The handle is lined with two plates of walrus ivory. Type Shamshir. No marks or inscriptions. That this coat of arms was actually owned by Cornelis Tromp is proven by a painting by Abraham van Westerveld (SK-A-1683).
