Photo album of a journey through Southern Europe and the Middle East, various makers, c. 1910 Canvas Print
Photo album in green band. The vertices and the strap back are made of brown leather. On the front cover the title in gold print. The bracts have a geometric motif in beige and gray. The album contains 18 sheets with a total of 165 photos and postcards, of which 9 were found separately in the album. It is a photographic account of the voyage made by a passenger of the ship 'Cincinnati' of the Hamburg-America Line in the spring of 1910. The company is pictured on photo RP-F-F01141-BZ. During the tour, places in southern Europe and the Middle East were visited: Monaco, Malta, Italy, Egypt, Lebanon, Palestine, Israel, Turkey and Greece. The recordings were probably partly purchased on site, but also partly made by an amateur photographer. Given that the album was purchased at the time in the Amsterdam Kalverstraat, this may have been a Dutchman.
