Porcelain plate with lobed wall, painted on the glaze in pink (and camaïeu) and gold. On the flat a group of people: a woman with a flag on which the initials of the Dutch East India Company are affixed, surrounded by young women, the god Mercury and Asian servants who offer gifts to the woman. At the feet of the woman a lion, a crown and jewels. In the background the Speech of Batavia. On the wall a band with flower vines; the border with four flower branches in the German style. The performance is based on a print by Jan Punt (1711-1779). European representation in enamel colours.
