Ponjaard mounted in gold plated yellow copper, ivory handle. The blade is etched with leaf vines and blued and gilded. The coat of arms, which, according to an inscription on the scabbard, had been donated to Van Speijk by the family of his fallen brother-in-arms Lieutenant at sea J. Klinkhamer.
