Christiaan Cornelis is standing on a ship. He has his left arm in a sling, in his other a sword. On 31 July 1794 Cornelis recaptured a kofschip taken by the French on which he had served as a sailor. After Cornelis had brought the ship back, he was rewarded by Admiral van Kinsbergen with a silver tobacco box. Below the image a caption regarding his heroics.
