Anne de Pisseleu, lady-in-waiting of Queen Mother Louise of Savoy and since 1530 mistress of Francis I (1494-1547) who married her in 1533 to Jean de Brosses to whom he, on that occasion, awarded the title Comte d'Etampes. Anne d'Etampes retained her influence at court until the death of Francis I. She is depicted as a horsewoman on a stationary horse. It is according to the inscription 'ghecontrefeyt na dleven'.
