Portrait of Marcantonio Barbarigo and the Personification of God's Grace, Robert van Audenaerd, 1673 - 1743 Canvas Print
Pedestal in the shape of a cartouche. On top a medallion with on the front the portrait of Marcantonio Barbarigo with mitre and pallium. He is pictured as Archbishop of Corfu. On the back, the bishop blesses some Venetian ships. On the pedestal kneels the female personification of God's Grace. She is naked, has a halo and is illuminated with divine light. She covers her nudity with a cornucopia filled with symbols of secular and spiritual power: a cardinal's hat, bishop's mite and crown. To the left of the pedestal is a Venetian warrior with the winged lion of Saint Mark on his flag. On the right, a Turkish man turned away. The print is part of an album.
