Proclamation of offering the crown of England to the prince and princess of Orange, 1689. Centrally a large plate with the offering of the crowns to Stadtholder William III and Mary Stuart as King and Queen of Great Britain, in the palace of Whitehall. An inscription on the arch above the throne: "hic flos et fructus hic virtus forma decusque". Around it 11 numbered smaller scenes with previous episodes. The episodes deal with the departure of William III and his farewell from the States at Hellevoetsluis, the journey to and entry into London and formalities surrounding the coronation, then the journey of Mary who travels after her husband, resulting in the second largest record: a triumphant entry into London, finally (plate 11) an image of the fireworks that were set off over the Thames. All plates with accompanying top inscription.
