Punch bowl, lid and under dish with performance William Hogarths "a midnight modern conversation", Porcelain Factory The Hague (attributed to), 1780 - 1790 Canvas Print
Punch bowl with lid, presumably made in Ansbach, decorated in The Hague, with a performance by William Hogarth "a midnight modern conversation". Around the edge of the bowl and the lid a gilding inspired by embroidery. On the lid two identical representations of fishing figures in a landscape. The bud is formed by a rose. Around the stand ring and the edge an evenly gilded edge. A Meissen dish with a similar décor of landscapes and gilded embroidery is kept at the bowl, which probably dates from the 19th century.
