Renovation of eastern courtyard 1931, 1931 Canvas Print

Courtyard seen to the southwest. Between 1930 and 1933, the courtyard was redeorganized for a new exhibition. The various exhibition spaces, created by means of walls of both wood and brick, the last with ceilings, were demolished for this purpose. Subsequently, the main intervention was the creation of a depot cellar, for which the floor level was lowered by about 1 meter. The floors were made of concrete. This is before the last surgery; the walls and ceilings have been demolished. On the left the original sculpture-decorated entrance from tower VII to the courtyard. The original staircase will be demolished. View of the windows that illuminate the driveway. The walls of the first floor of the wings around the courtyard are provided with savings fields, except above the entrance from tower VII. Above this entrance, the masonry is executed in decorative patterns. There are also windows in this part of the wall that illuminate the staircase of the tower. At the top left, part of the hood of the courtyard and a console are visible.
