Roemer, Maria Tesselschade Roemers Visscher (attributed to), c. 1625 - c. 1650 Canvas Print
Low, threaded foot. Deep-inserted soul. The ovoid chalice blown as a whole with the trunk, which is occupied with four rows of blackberry studs. A ribbed wire indicates the transition from the chalice to the trunk. On the chalice is engraved in Italian letters the spell Sic Soleo Amicos (So one can trust his friends). Under the A of Amicos flies a dragonfly. On the S of Sic hangs from a wire a spider lurking on a fly. There's a mosquito on soleo's S. Above the C of the word Amicos is an insect similar to a ladybug.
