Low, from a thread spun foot. Soul inserted. High, ovoid calyx above a short trunk, which is occupied with two rows of thorn-studs. A thread indicates the transition from the calyx to the trunk. In calligraphed letters is on the chalice is engraved by Anna Roemers Visscher the following text "AEN Constantinus Huijgens" and on the reverse "Verschroockt so is My Pen, vermuft is mijn Papier / Verroest is mijn Verstant, beschimmelt is Mijn Lier./ Gaet Segen-Rijck Poeet, gaet henen op de Toppen / Van Helicon, en haelt wat Waeter, om te Droppen / In mijn verdroochde jnck, Op dat ick (als ick plach) / Met een gewoone Pen mijn vrinden groeten Mach."
