Room 171 with ecclesiastical architecture from the 15th century. From a westerly direction with a view of an altar on which a statue of the Virgin Mary and an altarpiece. Above you can see a decorative mural depicting the proclamation to Mary. On either side of the altar is a passage to the next room. The proclamation to Mary is a copy after a mural in the St. Maartenskerk in Venlo, the tree of Jesse after an epitaphium from the St. Petri church in Lubeck. The vaults, windows and profiles of room 171 have been followed after examples of the St. Michael's Church in Zwolle, completed in 1356. The floor after a fragment found on the south side of the church of St. Servatius in Maastricht. The decorative painting of the vaults after motifs from the St. Nicholas or Kruisheerenkerk in Venlo.
