Room 226 with Oud Hollandsche School. The Dupperzaal, contains a collection of 64 paintings for the most part of famous masters from the seventeenth century. In the middle of the wall among other things a view of a work by P.J. Saenredam. Room 226, Dupperzaal. In 1915, the leather benches were replaced by oak benches. The west wing of the museum has four painting rooms with skylight (260-263) that are completely similar to the rooms in the east wing (225-228) Only the painted decoration of the friezes and vaults is different in each room. The Stuers afb. 51 gives a picture of the painting in two adjacent halls in the west wing. The Dupperzaal 'contains a collection of paintings whose provenance is mentioned in the inscription that is read in the frieze: By disposition of will of 12 April 1862, Leendert Dupper Willemszoon, Suikerraffinadeur, born in Dordrecht 16 August 1799, died there 4 March 1870, bequeathed to 'Rijks Museum te Amsterdam, his collection of paintings by old masters.' (De Stuers p. 38) Plate no 13 in the book of the Stuers shows fragments of the mosaic floor: D room 228, E room 227, F room 225, G room 226. The figures are formed from black yellow and white lines, while the background is yellow and red, or red and green.
