Top floor of the stairwell in the Drucker extension, seen to the southwest. This interior comes from a mansion at Sciekade 65-67 in Rotterdam. Stucco ceiling with built-in wardrobes. The wall display cases in the corners of the dome hall were installed in 1923; these were removed during the renovation of 1993-1996. Chinese wallpaper is applied to the walls. The panelling, panelling and dessus-des-portes were manufactured under the watchful eye of the acting architect Jos Cuypers. Parquet floor. Chinese porcelain from the Drucker-Fraser collection is displayed in the wall display cases and two Pastels by Liotard can be seen on the wall. "A dome-shaped space from the middle of the 18th century, from a Rotterdam patrician house, gives access to the so-called Drucker extension, which was completed in 1916. The rich stucco decorations offer a scene of the four seasons, while the eagle wearing the little Ganymede is the centerpiece. The wall display cases in the same Louis XV style are filled with Chinese blue and famille-verte porcelain (owned by Mr and Mrs Drucker Fraser), which harmoniously joins the ancient Chinese wallpaper and the crystal Régence airer. The walls are decorated with portraits of people who might have lived in this environment of European Rococo and Chinese grace. The beautifully framed large canvas, painted by George van der Mijn, depicts the Amsterdam burgemeesteer Hasselaer and his family. The witty pastels have rubbed Liotard in his happiest moments. The most important thing in this room is the famous pair of black Khang-hi vases, gift from Mr and Mrs Drucker Fraser. In their technical refinement and surprisingly balanced décor of hawthorn blossom, these pieces are a highlight in Chinese ceramics". (Rijksmuseum; guide with images, p. 95)
