Royal Palace in Amsterdam seen from the west side, J.B. Clermans, 1826 - 1839 Canvas Print
The Palace is seen from the Nieuwezijds Achterburgwal. This was muffled and wooned in the Spuistraat in 1867. On the streets on both sides of the water, figures walk and a tow carriage drives. This probably had to do with taxation; vehicles with wheels were subjected to more severe load.
